This is one of the finest emerald cut sapphires we have had the pleasure of offering. To date this is the largest certified natural emerald cut sapphire and diamond ring for sale in the US today. Finding emerald cut sapphires above 3.00 ct's is extremely rare due to the waist which is left due to this exquisite cut. The majority of large gem quality rough corundum will almost always be chosen to be a oval cut and more recently the fashionable cushion cut. For the original owner of the rough conundrum to look at a emerald cut sapphire will be looking at loosing up to 80% of the sapphire if the emerald cut is their choice where as typically only 40% if the cut was more of the traditional cut's similar to the oval or cushion cut. It is for these reason finding a true natural emerald cut sapphires are extremely rare especially for sapphires over 3.00 ct's.
After the sapphire arrived with us we went to the drawing board with our jeweler looking at a selection of classic designs some old and some new before we drew out this true classic and elegant setting with 3 sliced baguette diamonds stepping down on each side along with two bezel set diamonds centered at each end which finishes this stone off perfectly in the timeless setting.
